The final piece of the puzzle in the liability and compensation treaty regime for shipping will fall into place when the 2010 Convention on Liability for Damage in Connection with the Carriage of Hazardous and Noxious Substances by Sea (HNS) enters into force. A no-cost extension signed between IMO and the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad) will extend the TEST Biofouling project until 31 December 2026.
