The event was held at IMO Headquarters in London, and saw the presentation of the International Maritime Prize for 2021 and the 2022 IMO Awards for Exceptional Bravery at Sea.

International Maritime Prize for 2021
The prestigious International Maritime Prize for 2021 was awarded to Professor David Joseph Attard, nominated by the Government of Malta. Please see more information here.
Two additional special certificates were presented to Captain M. Segar Abdullah, nominated by the Government of Singapore and Professor Dr. H.C. Peter Ehlers, nominated by the Government of Germany.

2022 IMO Award for Exceptional Bravery at Sea
The 2022 IMO Award for Exceptional Bravery at Sea was awarded to Mr. Bo Xu, Chief Officer of the M/T Jian Qiao 502, nominated by China. Please see more information here.
Also, Certificates of Commendation, in recognition of their acts of bravery, were awarded to recipients nominated by France, India, Japan and the United States.
