IMO-Singapore Future of Shipping Conference: Decarbonisation 2022
IMO-Singapore Future of Shipping Conference: Decarbonisation
IMO and the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore are jointly organizing the IMO-Singapore Future of Shipping Conference: Decarbonisation (FOSC) on 6 April 2022. FOSC 2022 aims to bring stakeholders together to identify possible solutions along the two pillars of “gaps” and “opportunities” in the maritime and energy value chains.
Panel discussions, addressing both “gaps” and “opportunities”, will allow for an exchange of views on international efforts needed to support the maritime industry to become greener and more resilient.
Presentations will address concrete steps to address the technology, policy or funding “gaps”, and concrete steps needed to materialize the potential of low and zero-carbon emission solutions through innovation, finance, collaboration, technology transfer, and capacity-building.
The conference will also serve as a platform for:
The launch of the preparatory phase of the IMO’s Coordinated Actions to Reduce Emissions from Shipping (IMO CARES) Project. This will mark the start of this preparatory process that will aim to bring together stakeholders in global north and south to promote innovation, R&D collaboration, accelerate demonstration of green technologies and their global deployment in developing regions.
The launch of NextGEN Connect. This will bring different stakeholders together to offer solutions for inclusive maritime decarbonization, through addressing scenario-based problem statements derived from NextGEN stakeholders. Read more on NextGEN here.
