The Pacific region faces a unique set of maritime challenges. To address these challenges and promote cooperation within nations, two events will be held concurrently in Cairns, Australia: the Pacific Regional Maritime Search and Rescue (PACSAR) Workshop and the Pacific Women in Maritime (PacWIMA) Conference. Both events are co-organized by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), the Pacific Community (SPC) and the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA).

Pacific Regional Maritime Search and Rescue (PACSAR) Workshop

Date: 27 February – 3 March 2023

Time: Monday, 27 (16:00-19.00); Tuesday, 28 (08:00-17.15); Wednesday, 1 (08:00-17.30); Thursday, 2 (08:00-17.00); Friday, 3 (08:00-14:30) (Australian time).

Pacific Women in Maritime (PacWIMA) Conference

"Aspiring towards a transformed maritime transport sector inclusive of Women in Maritime"

Date: 27 February – 3 March 2023

Time: Monday, 27 (16:00-19.00); Tuesday, 28 (08:30-16:30); Wednesday, 1 (09:00-17.30); Thursday, 2 (08:30-18.00); Friday, 3 (08:30-13:30) (Australian time).
